Growing Littles’ Policies

It is extremely important to us that everyone feel safe and comfortable in our space. The following policies are created to help ensure that we are able to do this.

Sick Policy:
If you or your child is sick, please do not join us that day. We hate when people have to miss class but with a vulnerable age group and kids sharing toys we try to reduce the spread of germs as much as possible.

Physical Contact Policy (hitting, kicking, biting, pushing, etc.):
Safety is a priority for us. While hitting, pushing, etc. are fairly common behaviors for toddlers to engage in, it is important that we hold the boundary that this is unsafe behavior. If your child engages in physical contact with another child we will ask:
1) For you to move your child to one of our other unoccupied rooms so that they can take some space to process what happened and calm their body down. You can say something like “It’s okay to feel mad. It’s not okay to hit. I’m going to move us in here for a bit so everyone can be safe.” Removing a child from an interaction is a developmentally-appropriate way to help them to understand that what they are doing is not okay.
2) Check in with your child and decide whether or not you think it would be safe for them to continue class. You know your child best. If you feel like it is safe for them to re-enter class please do so.
3) If there is a second physical incident that day, we ask that you bring your child home for the day. They may just be having a hard day and it will be difficult for them to be around other kids in that moment.

Caregiver Responsibility Policy:
While on the Growing Littles premises, the caregiver is responsible for the health and safety of their child(ren). Our teachers are present to lead and guide children in our classes but ultimately caregivers are responsible for ensuring their child is behaving safely while in the playspace.

Snow Day Policy:
We will follow the guidelines of the Greely (Cumberland/North Yarmouth) school district. In the event of a snow day, we will offer a make-up class at another time.

Refund Policy:
If you register for an event or class and later cannot make it, we will try to offer your spot to someone on our waitlist (if applicable). If someone is able to take your spot we will refund you (minus the PayPal processing fee). You are also welcome to transfer your ticket to another family. If there are extenuating circumstances preventing you from attending please reach out to me (jessica@growinglittles.info).
