A look inside our extensive vetting process
To ensure we maintain a trusted and professional roster, all nanny candidates complete a thorough screening process.
Step 1: Interested nannies will complete an expression of interest questionnaire and submit a current resume and 1-3 childcare references.
Step 2: We invite qualified candidates for an in-person interview to get to know them better, learn more about their childcare style and philosophy, and find out what kind of families might be a good fit.
Step 3: We run a background check and contact the nanny’s childcare references to ensure accurate resumes and to hear feedback from previous families the nanny has worked with.
Step 4: Nannies who successfully make it through these steps will be invited to join our active nanny roster list. Families who work with us will be provided a shortlist from our active roster of nannies who might be a good fit.
Step 5: Nannies awaiting a match and nannies matched through us will have access to all professional development workshops, trainings, and events, further enhancing the quality of your family’s nanny, even after the match takes place.

Reducing stress & simplifying your search
Searching for reliable, high-quality childcare can be time-consuming and emotionally exhausting. We help relieve some of that burden by providing expert guidance, personalized recommendations that you can trust, and ongoing support throughout the process.
Pricing
Customized Plan Fee
$250
After completing our intake questionnaire, we will invite you to schedule an in-home interview to better get to know your family. The Customized Plan Fee is due before the interview. Following the interview we will create and send a curated shortlist of nannies who we believe will be a good fit for your family. The family is then responsible for interviewing their prospective nannies.
Placement Fee
$1,200
Once a successful match is made with one of our nannies the family is responsible for paying our Placement Fee within 1 week of the hire date. Cumberland Nanny Company guarantees our matches for 5 weeks – if within this period the match doesn’t seem like a good fit, we will work with the family to find a new nanny from our roster at no additional charge.
